H2Obvious Overview

H2Obvious was conceived as a self-contained, non-intrusive device, for monitoring, locating, indicating and identifying any fluids on process pipes and vessel surfaces or within thermal insulation. H2Obvious devices are independently active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days per year. The primary function is to mitigate the risks and costs associated with corrosion under insulation CUI.

In addition to the primary function, H2Obvious has added 'Green'and environmentally friendly benefits:

Reduction of Insulation Removal and Disposal

The current requirement of inspecting industrial process pipes and vessels for signs of rusting and corrosion is, stripping insulation materials (Glass wool) and the outer protective cladding (Tin or steel). This material is generally neither reused nor recycled, this 'Waste' material is required to be taken from site and either destroyed or land filled.

Although a legislative requirement, industry statistics show that only 20% of this waste material needs to be removed as 80% is found to be dry and integrally sound, with no signs of rusting or corrosion on the substrate.

When fitted and monitored correctly H2Obvious allows for huge reduction in this thankless task of stripping and wasteful disposal, as it identifies exactly where there are fluids present, should there be no fluids present, there is no risk of corrosion CUI and so the insulation materials need not be stripped for inspection purposes, with the needless waste materials this inspection incurs.

In ANY single production facility there are tens of linear kilometres of pipework and vessels with many thousands of facilities globally that require this inspection.
